UK Drops Affordable Housing Rule Change That NHF Warned Would Cost 32,000 Homes

UK ministers scrapped a plan letting developers of 10-to-49-home sites in England pay cash instead of building affordable homes on-site. The National Housing Federation warned the proposal would have cost 32,000 affordable homes over a decade. Its analysis found more than half of affordable homes in England's most rural areas are built on such sites.
