
Tupac Murder Trial Centers on Defendant's Own Memoir, Prosecutor Says
Opening statements began 17 August 2026 in Las Vegas in the murder trial of Duane "Keffe D" Davis for the 1996 killing of Tupac Shakur. Prosecutor Marc DiGiacomo said Davis's 2019 memoir, in which Davis acknowledged a role in the shooting, is the case's centerpiece — and that without it, Davis would probably never have been prosecuted.
