€9 Million Gold Hoard Found in Belgian Brewery Cellar Set to Trigger Ownership Dispute
Construction workers unearthed a chest of gold bars and coins worth roughly €9 million bricked into a cellar wall at a former brewery in Sint-Gillis-Dendermonde, Belgium. The Guardian reports the find is expected to spark a complex civil dispute over ownership among the property owner CAW Oost-Vlaanderen, the construction firm, and the 18-year-old student who made the discovery.
