Magnitude 7.7 Earthquake Strikes Off Indonesia's Flores Coast, Triggering Tsunami Warning

A magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck 68 km northwest of Ende, Indonesia, at 10 km depth on August 14. Indonesia's BMKG issued a tsunami warning for East Nusa Tenggara province, urging coastal residents to move to higher ground. Two aftershocks followed. Australia assessed no tsunami threat to its territory. No casualties were immediately reported.
