Taiwan Seeks to Dissolve Pro-Unification Party in Unprecedented Constitutional Move

Taiwan's Interior Ministry petitioned the Constitutional Court to dissolve the Chinese Unification Promotion Party, led by former gangster Chang An-lo ("White Wolf"). The ministry alleges the party accepted Beijing-directed instructions for influence operations, recruited military officers for Chinese espionage, and used Chinese funding to interfere in elections. No Taiwanese court has dissolved a political party in the democratic era.
