EIA Replaces Weekly Petroleum Status Report PDF With Data Visualizations Starting August 12

Beginning August 12, 2026, the U.S. Energy Information Administration will stop publishing the standalone PDF summary accompanying its Weekly Petroleum Status Report, replacing it with new data visualizations. The weekly report is a primary input for crude oil price formation; inventory surprises of even a few hundred thousand barrels can move front-month WTI futures. The EIA has not said whether underlying data tables will remain machine-readable.
