
Barrick and Newmont Settle Nevada Gold Mines Disputes in US$1.95 Billion Deal
Barrick Gold and Newmont resolved all outstanding disputes over their Nevada Gold Mines joint venture, Barrick announced August 10. Newmont will pay Barrick US$1.95 billion to address valuation imbalances in assets each company contributed to NGM — the world's largest gold-mining complex by output, which Barrick operates as 61.5% owner. No details on the valuation methodology were disclosed.
