US Swaps Expiring Global Tariff for Forced-Labor Duties on 60 Countries
On July 24, 2026, USTR Jamieson Greer announced 10%–12.5% tariffs on about 60 trading partners — 99% of US imports — citing their failure to ban forced-labor goods. The duties replace a 10% global surcharge imposed in February for 150 days. Brazil called its 12.5% rate "completely arbitrary and unjustified."
