Police didn't know meth pipe sales were banned, briefing shows

Selling and importing methamphetamine pipes has been illegal under the Misuse of Drugs Act since 2014. A briefing paper prepared for Health Minister Simeon Brown, released after RNZ asked, found police, retailers and the public knew little about the ban. Police had earlier told RNZ selling meth pipes was not specifically illegal, citing the wrong section of the Act.
