Nicaragua's Assembly to Vote on Barring Opposition from Elections

Nicaragua's National Assembly will vote in early August 2026 on banning opposition parties from future elections. President Ortega vowed on the Sandinista revolution anniversary: "No more elections for them." Assembly head Porras pledged to leave "not even a crack" for opponents.
