Waymo to End Exclusive Uber Tie-Up in Austin and Atlanta in January 2028

Waymo will end its exclusive Uber partnership in Austin and Atlanta in January 2028, after which riders will book its robotaxis (driverless cars) through Waymo's app. Co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana confirmed the timing to Bloomberg on November 4, 2026. The existing deal was set to run until May 2028. Uber told Bloomberg the missing direct-booking option was Waymo's decision.
