Waymo Will Split From Uber in Austin and Atlanta in January 2028

Waymo will end its exclusive Uber partnership in Austin and Atlanta in January 2028, after which riders in both cities will book its robotaxis through Waymo's own app. Co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana confirmed the timing to Bloomberg on November 4, 2026. The current agreement was set to run until May 2028. Uber told Bloomberg the missing direct-booking option was Waymo's decision.
