Waymo Ends Its Uber-Only Deal in Austin and Atlanta

Waymo will end its exclusive deal with Uber in Austin and Atlanta in January 2028. After that, riders will book its self-driving taxis through Waymo's app. Co-CEO Tekedra Mawakana confirmed the timing to Bloomberg on November 4, 2026. The agreement was set to run until May 2028. Uber told Bloomberg that the missing booking option was Waymo's decision.
