Macronix Winds Down ROM, Pivots to NOR Flash for Data Centers

Macronix will gradually phase out ROM production and shift to NOR flash for data centers, disclosed with its Q3 2026 results. CEO Miin Wu said demand for data center NOR, a non-volatile memory that stores code, is "very robust." The ROM wind-down has no fixed end date. ROM revenue fell 39 percent year over year in the quarter.
