Macronix Plans to Phase Out ROM Production, Shifting Focus to NOR Flash for Data Centers

Macronix will gradually phase out ROM production and shift its focus to NOR flash for data centers, disclosed with its Q3 2026 results. CEO Miin Wu said demand for NOR used in data centers is "very robust." The ROM wind-down has no fixed end date. In the quarter, ROM revenue fell 39 percent year over year.
