Mike Johnson Does Not Plan to Stay On as House Republican Leader

House Speaker Mike Johnson does not plan to stay on as Republican leader in the new Congress, a source familiar with his plans told NPR. CBS News reported Johnson told staffers he will not run for minority leader, the top House job for a party not in the majority. House Republicans are scheduled to hold leadership elections Nov. 10.
