Amazon raises 2026 capex forecast by $20 billion to about $220 billion
Amazon now expects 2026 capital expenditure (cash spent on data centres and hardware) of roughly $220 billion, most of it for AWS. That is $20 billion above its prior forecast of about $200 billion. Amazon attributed part of the rise to higher memory costs and said 2027 spending will be meaningfully higher still. Shares fell about 6% after hours.
