Amazon raises 2026 capex forecast by $20 billion to about $220 billion

Amazon expects 2026 cash capital expenditures of approximately $220 billion, with the majority directed to AWS, up $20 billion from its prior forecast of roughly $200 billion. Amazon attributed part of the increase to higher memory costs. It also expects 2027 capex to be meaningfully higher than 2026. Shares fell about 6% in after-market trading.
