Voter enrolment for 2026 election slips below 2023 and 2020 levels

The Electoral Commission reported a provisional enrolment rate of 93.6% for the 2026 general election, down from 94.7% in 2023 and below the 2020 level. The enrolment rate is the share of eligible voters on the electoral roll. The figure is provisional and may change as records are finalised. Enrolment closed at midnight on Sunday 25 October.
