Lilly Q3 EPS Estimate Falls to $6.67 on Acquired R&D Charges

Eli Lilly's third-quarter 2026 earnings estimate fell from $9.87 to $6.67 per share, per Yahoo Finance, because of acquired in-process R&D charges (costs of buying unfinished drug programs). These one-time accounting entries, booked when a drug company buys early-stage assets, cut reported profit while revenue is still expected to grow. Lilly reports October 29.
