Lilly's Expected Profit Drops on a One-Time Accounting Charge
Analysts now expect Eli Lilly to earn $6.67 per share in the third quarter of 2026, down from $9.87, according to Yahoo Finance. The cause is accounting. When a drug company buys early-stage assets, such as young drug projects, it books a one-time charge that lowers reported profit. Sales are still expected to grow. Lilly reports October 29.
