Amazon renames Kindle Unlimited as Kindle Plus at $11.99 a month, adding AI-narrated audiobooks

Amazon has renamed Kindle Unlimited as Kindle Plus, priced at $11.99 a month. The subscription keeps unlimited access to a select collection of ebooks, comics and magazines, and adds virtual voice audiobooks read by AI narrators (synthetic voices generated by software). Thousands of U.S. audiobooks are included at no extra cost. Kindle Plus remains separate from Amazon Prime.
