Coroner orders Warwickshire council to make suicide prevention training mandatory for 600 staff

A coroner has ordered Warwickshire council to make suicide prevention training mandatory for 600 staff, mostly social workers. It follows the death of Matilda Davis, 36, a parent who cared for family members. She died in October 2025 minutes after meeting social workers who had not received such training. Andy Burnham says he backs extending the training to all English councils.
