Spotify asks some Family plan members to verify in person by QR code

Spotify is asking some Premium Family members to prove they live with the plan manager by scanning a QR code in person, Music Business Worldwide reported on 21 October 2026. Members who fail, or do not finish within seven days, cannot join another Family or Duo plan for 12 months. Spotify has not announced the change beyond support pages.
