Rivian to open its vehicles to outside AI agents

Rivian will let future vehicles run AI agents built by other companies, CEO RJ Scaringe said at TechCrunch Disrupt in October 2026. He named Anthropic as one example. An AI agent here means software that can carry out tasks in the car. No timeline was given. Rivian declined further detail, pointing to its AI & Autonomy Day in December.
