UK gives no date for free access to large land ownership records

The UK government has not said when people can see for free who owns large areas of land in England and Wales. The pledge was made in March 2026 to partly lift fees for Land Registry records, the official ownership register. The registry said in July its plans were at an early stage, with an update expected early next year.
