Online safety bill introduced with fines over $100m

The Online Safety Amendment (Digital Duty of Care) Bill 2026 was introduced into parliament on 15 October 2026. The proposed online safety laws would set safety duties for tech platforms, with fines of more than $100 million for non-compliance.
