Government picks preferred LNG provider for Taranaki, delays contract

The Government has picked its preferred provider for a floating LNG import facility at Port Taranaki, MBIE said. The provider's name is undisclosed, and no contract will be signed before the election. The proposal is for a floating storage and regasification unit, a ship that turns super-cooled liquid gas back to gas, moored at the main breakwater.
