ACT would let landlords offset rental losses more widely

ACT has promised to scrap rental loss ring-fencing, RNZ reported. At present, a loss on a rental can only be used to reduce tax on rental profit. Leader David Seymour said letting landlords claim losses against other income in the same year would make rental investment, including new builds, more viable.
