Ethiopia Accuses Eritrea of Invading Tigray in UN Letter

Ethiopia says Eritrea has launched an all-out invasion of northern Tigray, in an 8 October letter to UN Security Council members — the body that handles threats to peace. Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos called it blatant aggression triggering self-defence. Eritrea denies it and blames Ethiopia. It follows broken ties and renewed fighting with the TPLF.
