Ethiopia accuses Eritrea of invading Tigray in UN letter
Ethiopia accused Eritrea of an "all-out invasion" of northern Tigray in an 8 October letter to UN Security Council members. Foreign Minister Gedion Timothewos called it a "blatant act of aggression that engages Ethiopia's inherent right to self-defence". Eritrea rejects the charge, alleging Ethiopian aggression. The dispute follows severed ties and renewed fighting with the TPLF.
