Religious Hate Crime Hits Record High

Police logged 8,214 religion-based hate crimes in England and Wales in the year to March 2026, up 13% to the highest since records started in 2012. Crimes aimed at Muslims rose 15% to 5,132; antisemitic crimes rose 10% to 3,162. Figures exclude London's Metropolitan Police after it changed how it records cases.
