Religion-Based Attacks Hit Record High

Police counted 8,214 crimes targeting people for their religion in England and Wales in the year to March 2026, up 13% to the highest since records began in 2012. Attacks on Muslims rose 15% to 5,132; attacks on Jewish people rose 10% to 3,162. London's main force is excluded after changing its counting method.
