
Texas to Use Pentobarbital in Execution After Tennessee Failure
Texas plans to execute Jamaal Howard on Oct. 7 by lethal injection using pentobarbital, a sedative drug used in executions. It is the same drug involved when Tennessee failed to execute Christa Pike last week. It would be the first U.S. execution since then. Howard’s lawyers asked for a pause over similar risks, but a Texas court refused.
