Canada pulls sponsorship of Vilnius conference over U.S. panels

Canada has pulled sponsorship of the EU DisinfoLab 2026 conference in Vilnius. At issue are panels listing the United States as a source of foreign interference — efforts by one state to mislead voters abroad. Global Affairs Canada spokesperson Samantha Lafleur said Ottawa was not comfortable with that framing. Officials will still attend but will not lead sessions.
