Canada drops sponsorship of Vilnius conference over panels naming U.S. as interference threat

Canada has withdrawn sponsorship of the EU DisinfoLab 2026 conference in Vilnius over panels listing the United States as a foreign information manipulation and interference threat. Global Affairs Canada spokesperson Samantha Lafleur said Canada was not comfortable with the framing of some panels. Officials will still attend but will not chair discussions.
