
Finland halts Google data centre prep pending environmental reviews
Google must stop early work at its planned data centres in Muhos and Kajaani by 23 October until it completes environmental impact assessments — studies of harm to nature and communities. The order from Finland's Licensing and Supervision Authority covers part of a €13bn project and cites tree clearing, topsoil removal and road building, warning of fines for defiance.
