Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger launch joint Russian-backed Tafouk TV

Burkina Faso, Mali and Niger started broadcasting Tafouk TV in September 2026, a channel they jointly own with Russian backing. It will present the three military governments' version of events. Russia's ambassador in Bamako welcomed the launch. The Financial Times reports the aim is to increase domestic support for the military governments.
