Finland orders Google to halt data centre work over missing environmental reviews

Finland's Licensing and Supervision Authority ordered Google to suspend preparatory work at data centre sites in Muhos and Kajaani by 23 October until environmental impact assessments are completed. The sites are part of a 13bn euro project. LVV cited tree removal, topsoil stripping and road building, and warned of enforcement and fines for non-compliance.
