Conservatives pledge up to £10bn for Britannia Shield defence system

The Conservatives said they would spend up to £10bn over ten years on Britannia Shield, a system to intercept missiles and drones, if they win the next election. The party said shadow defence secretary James Cartlidge will set out the plan at its conference in Birmingham on Tuesday.
