TOP's land tax: $19,250 a year on $2m home

The Opportunity Party would charge a 1.75% yearly tax on the value of urban land, RNZ reported. Its modelling says that means about $19,250 a year on a $2m property. The party says owners could delay paying until they sell. The figure is from RNZ's 4 October comparison of household budgets.
