How TOP's plan would tax a $2m home

A $2m home would face about $19,250 a year under The Opportunity Party's plan, RNZ reported. The plan would tax the land in towns and cities at 1.75% each year. Owners would not have to pay straight away and could wait until they sell. RNZ gave the figure in a 4 October look at household budgets.
