Greens pledge $2 fare cap for most adults on buses and trains

The Green Party would cap bus and train fares at $2 a trip for most adults, under its 2026 election transport policy. The cap would cover standard adult fares on public bus and train services, the party says. RNZ reported the pledge on 4 October 2026.
