Dora Kaprálová wins 2026 European Union Prize for Literature

Czech writer Dora Kaprálová won the 2026 European Union Prize for Literature for Mariborská hypnóza, rendered as The Hypnosis of Maribor. The novel had won the Magnesia Litera, the Czech annual national book award. Kaprálová was chosen from a shortlist of 14 writers, according to the European Union Prize for Literature.
