Congo Ebola Toll Reaches 4,018 Across Seven Provinces
Ebola has killed 4,018 in Congo, with 8,300 cases in seven provinces, per Oct. 2 government figures. The outbreak, declared May 15, is the Bundibugyo strain — an Ebola type with no approved vaccine. Over 2,000 have recovered. The WHO warns it is far from over and on track to surpass the West Africa outbreak that killed more than 11,000.
