Ethiopia and Eritrea End Diplomatic Ties

Ethiopia and Eritrea have cut formal diplomatic ties. Ethiopia said it will close its embassy in Asmara and ordered 10 Eritrean diplomats to leave within 48 hours, saying they threatened national security. Eritrea called the decision "astounding" and said Oct. 1 it was severing all ties in response, closing official channels between the two.
