Lib Dem MPs criticise Davey for backing pensions triple lock
Liberal Democrat MPs have criticised leader Sir Ed Davey for defending the pensions triple lock, the rule that raises the state pension each year. One MP told the BBC most of the party's MPs would not back opposing Prime Minister Andy Burnham's planned changes. Senior frontbenchers privately attacked his response. Tom Gordon, MP for Harrogate and Knaresborough, called it 'nonsense'.
