NYC's Click-to-Cancel Rule Takes Effect

New York City's click-to-cancel rule took effect October 1, 2026, requiring subscription cancellation to be as easy as signup. The Department of Consumer and Worker Protection enforces it citywide. It is the first municipal rule after a federal version was struck down. The city estimates annual consumer savings of $21.5 million to $162.5 million.
