NYC Requires Subscription Cancellation to Be as Easy as Signup
New York City's click-to-cancel rule took effect October 1, 2026, requiring cancellation to be as easy as signup. Enforced citywide by the Department of Consumer and Worker Protection, it is the first municipal rule after a federal version was struck down. The city estimates annual consumer savings of $21.5 million to $162.5 million.
