Flanagan's Carrie Updates Bullying for the Instagram Era

Mike Flanagan's Carrie for Prime Video relocates Stephen King's bullying to today's social platforms. Carrie White's gym-class humiliation is filmed by classmates and spreads via anonymous Instagram account 'carriered'. Margaret becomes a religious zealot turned parents' rights activist. My assessment is the network works as setting, not just a prop.
